Replication package for Ethiopia's “Building Resilience to Shocks” report. Welcome to this repository, which contains the replication files for "SPIA Ethiopia Report 2024: "Building Resilience to Shocks" by Solomon Alemu, Alemayehu Ambel, Amit Khanal, Frederic Kosmowski, James Stevenson, Lemi Taye, Asmelash Tsegay, Karen Macours. This repository contains the neccesary data, Stata and R scripts needed to reproduce the tables and figures in the report. The repo is structured as follows: - **code**: This folder contains the programs (Stata do files and R scripts) used to generate data sets, variables of interest, tables, and figures. - **data**: This folder contains both the raw data and processed data used to generate the outputs used in the report. - **supplementary**: contains Excel tables and other results that are edited manually and are ready for final consumption. - **output**: This folder contains the tables and figures generated in the do-files and R scripts. # Prerequisites/Instructions to Replicators - This replication uses both R and Stata, users will require; - Stata 15+ with required dependencies provided in scripts - R 4.0+ with required packages provided in scripts - Please clone this repository and open `code/00_master.do` and specify your parent directory, example, `global root "YOUR/PATH/TO/SPIA-Ethiopia-Report-2024"` in line 40. Run `00_master.do` to generate the data sets and tables used in the report. - The R scripts are organized under an RStudio project. In RStudio, open the project file `"_1_code.Rproj"` located in the **"code"** folder. Then open the `"00_master.R"` script and source any or all R scripts from there to generate the tables and figures used in the report. - The master scripts execute the full workflow and generates all the outputs. If running specific components, run individual scripts in order specified in the master scripts (Note: you will need to load all R packages from the master script.
