Submission for NISR Hackathon Our Rwandan Nutrition app analyzes key changes in malnutrition risk by area as well as nation wide. We developed a dashboard to highlight key risks, YoY changes, and key progress indicators. We then developed a map to look at areas throughout the country and their associated malnutrition risks. Utilizing this, we created an AI-powered risk predictor, inputting five different variables and then using it to determine associated malnutrition risk. After looking at the overall riskiness, we analyzed the factors leading to malnutrition, which were four-fold. These four were socio-economic factors, agricultural factors, health system factors, and child-specific risk factors. We analyzed the determinants in each of these groups and highlighted them within the website. We then proposed intervention strategies which were also four-fold. Our intervention strategies included health, agriculture, education, and infrastructure strategies. We outline the roll-out plan of these strategies within the policy framework plan, a cohesive plan that strategizes changes through 2029. We separate this into immediate, short term, medium term, and long-term goals, and highlight the costs at the bottom. We give the total expected costs, and then a sub-category section of group by group. Overall, the Rwandan Nutrition app is meant to educate students and readers on the issues present and ways that they can be fixed.
