Transparent AI donor discovery — matching values to vetted causes across Africa, South Asia & Latin America. No black box, no paid placement. # Giving Matchmaker **AI-powered donor discovery that turns intent into action — and makes the invisible visible.** A working prototype built for the **Gates Foundation AI & Philanthropy Challenge**, matching donors' values to real, vetted organisations working in global health and development across Africa, South Asia, and Latin America. 🔴 **Live demo:** gettoolie.com ## What it does Four quick questions — your causes, your region, your giving style, your amount — and the tool ranks a curated index of **29 real organisations**, translating any donation into concrete outcomes ("a year of $25/month ≈ 60 insecticide-treated bed nets delivered"). Every figure is cited to GiveWell, an independent evaluator, or the organisation's own published data, with retrieval dates shown. Every donate button leads to a verified giving route. ## Why it's different **No black box.** The matching algorithm is rule-based and fully disclosed. Every result card carries a complete score breakdown — cause fit (40), region fit (20), evidence fit weighted by *your* choice (25), cost-effectiveness evidence (15). No engagement tricks, no paid placement. **Bias, handled deliberately.** Published data favours organisations that already have Western funding. So the index spans three labelled visibility tiers — 🌐 International, 🌍 Locally led (Global South-founded), 🏠 Grassroots (born inside the community it serves) — and a **disclosed representation rule** guarantees locally-led organisations at least 2 of 6 result places whenever they match your causes. The rule announces itself on the card it affects. **Governance, judged — not assumed.** Every organisation shows its own accountability markers: independent audits, third-party vetting, published results, who leads and staffs it. Trust is earned per organisation, never inherited from an address. **Disability inclusion as a first-class cause.** Organisations of persons with disabilities are the most overlooked layer of philanthropy.
