A complete simulated disease surveillance data analysis project using power BI Nigeria Disease Surveillance Analysis Project Overview This project presents an analysis of simulated disease surveillance data from 10 Nigerian states covering 2024–2025. The project was developed in Power BI to explore disease patterns, demographic characteristics, geographic distribution, temporal trends, and reported case outcomes. The analysis includes data cleaning and transformation, data modelling, DAX calculations, data visualization, and public-health interpretation. Note: The dataset used in this project is simulated and was created for portfolio and learning purposes. It does not represent official Nigerian disease surveillance data. Objectives * Examine the distribution of reported disease cases across states. * Identify patterns by age and sex. * Analyze changes in reported cases across 2024 and 2025. * Identify the most frequently reported diseases. * Examine reported case outcomes, including recovery, discharge, treatment, and deaths. * Generate data-informed public-health recommendations. Cases were relatively evenly distributed, with Lagos recording the highest number (67; 11.9%) and Plateau the lowest (41; 7.3%). * Reported cases in 2025 were lower than in 2024 from Q1–Q3, while cases increased by 20% from Q3 (60 cases) to Q4 (72 cases) in 2025. * Males recorded more reported cases than females, with a 6.9 percentage-point difference. Approximately 5.7% of cases had an unknown sex. * The 0–10 age group recorded the highest number of reported cases, followed by individuals aged 81 years and above, with 81 cases. * Cholera recorded the highest number of reported cases among the diseases included in the dataset. * Kaduna recorded the highest number of de …
