The data was gathered from fao.org. ### Methods Used * Explarotary Data Analysis * Data Visualization ### Technologies * Python * Pandas, jupyter, VS code * HTML * Streamlit ## Project Description Overview: This project began as an exploratory data analysis in a Jupyter notebook, focusing on cocoa production across several prominent cocoa-producing countries in Africa: Cameroon, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Nigeria, Sao Tome and Principe, Sierra Leone, and Togo. The goal was to analyze trends, output, and other relevant metrics within the cocoa industry in these countries. Challenges: While Jupyter notebooks are excellent for initial data exploration and analysis, the complexity of the data and the need for interactive visualization led to challenges with data presentation. The visualizations became cluttered as the scope of data increased, making it difficult to derive clear insights directly from the notebook. Solution: To address these challenges, we transitioned the project to a Streamlit application. Streamlit allowed us to create a more interactive and user-friendly interface, enabling users to engage with the data through dynamic visualizations and filters. This platform not only enhanced the accessibility of the data but also allowed for real-time updates and more effective presentation of complex datasets. Impact: The Streamlit application provides stakeholders, such as cocoa producers, market analysts, and policy makers, with a powerful tool to monitor cocoa production trends and make data-driven decisions.
