This project uses alternative data sources to monitor economic activity in Algeria where traditional data are limited. It combines datasets such as nighttime lights, air pollution, surveys, and internet connectivity, applying geospatial and statistical analysis to track economic trends and sectoral patterns. # Algeria Economic Monitoring ## Assignment The Algeria Country team would like to use alternative data to understand trends in economic activity in a rather data poor country. ## Contents ```{tableofcontents} ``` ## Data The following datasets are used in this assignment: * BlackMarble - Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Nighttime Lights from NASA. * TROPOMI Sentinel-5P NO2 - Additional details about each dataset—such as licensing, update frequency, and access instructions—are provided within the respective data products. #### Data Availability Statement Restrictions may apply to the data that support the findings of this study. Data received from the private sector through the Development Data Partnership are subject to the terms and conditions of the data license agreement and the “Official Use Only” data classification. These data are available upon request through the Development Data Partnership.
