The first scan reviews recent messages, identifies supported transaction formats, and builds a local summary of your accounts. After setup, Mizan watches for new matching notifications and updates the relevant balance and transaction history. It also keeps a local scan checkpoint, so a manual refresh only checks messages that have arrived since the previous successful scan. Full-history and recent-message scans remain available when you want to rebuild or refresh the summary. Messages are checked for institution-specific wording and reliable financial details before they are accepted. Verification codes, promotional messages, and notifications without enough financial information are ignored. Duplicate transactions are detected automatically, and Mizan uses the latest valid balance reported by each institution rather than trying to calculate a balance from transaction totals.
