# AfyaPEDI — African Paediatric Cancer Registry
> An open-source, offline-first, multilingual **African paediatric (childhood) cancer registry** for

The live demo is the installable PWA loaded with synthetic paediatric seed data. Sign in as any demo
user (e.g. *Joseph — Kenya MoH* for national dashboards, or *Aisha — Nairobi clerk* for case entry),
switch between the six African Union languages, and explore the **ICCC-3 classification**, **Toronto
staging**, the **WHO CureAll/GICC indicators**, validation, dashboards and FHIR/DHIS2 exports.
**No real patient data is included.**
**AfyaPEDI** = *Afya* (*health*, in Kiswahili — an African Union working language) + paediatrics. It
reuses the Afya Cancer Registry architecture,
extended for childhood oncology (see `docs/PEDIATRIC-DESIGN.md`).

## What this is
A platform to **record, validate, analyse and share cancer data** at every level of the African health
system, while keeping patient data under local control:

```
Each level sees what its role and position in the hierarchy permit. Personally identifiable data stays
at the facility/registry where it was collected; only **de-identified aggregates** flow upward to
regional, national and continental dashboards. The whole system runs **offline on a tablet or computer**
and **synchronises daily or weekly** (or continuously when a network is available).
