## GIS Project: Coffee Bean Land Suitability in Kenya
Final project for UEP 235 Advanced GIS at Tufts University.
## Goal of the Study
This study identifies regions in Kenya that are optimal for coffee bean cultivation, benefiting small-scale farmers. By analyzing spatial factors such as soil conditions, soil type, temperature, humidity, and elevation, and applying a weighted scale to evaluate their significance, the research pinpoints areas that offer the most favorable conditions for establishing successful coffee farms.
This approach supports the selection of suitable cultivation sites and contributes to the economic development of local farming communities. The study focuses on arabica beans, given their larger share of the market.
