AI Civic Infrastructure Monitor (AICIM) — a multilingual, accessible platform for citizens to report infrastructure issues; uploads media, runs AI-based classification/prioritization/summarization, and routes reports to dashboards and communications channels (Twilio, Africa’s Talking, Telegram, Google Forms). # AI Civic Infrastructure Monitor (AICIM) This repository contains the frontend and backend for a citizen reporting platform for Sierra Leone. Quick local setup 1. Backend - Navigate to `BACKEND_SYSTEM/server` - Install dependencies: `npm install` - Create a `.env` file (or copy `.env.example`) with DB and PORT settings - Start the server in development: `npm run dev` (requires nodemon) 2. Frontend - Open `FRONTEND_DASHBOARDS/report-form.html` in your browser, or serve the folder with a simple static server. - Frontend will post to `localhost` by default. You can override by setting `window.BACKEND_URL` in the browser console. Notes - The backend uses a simple rule-based AI processor (`BACKEND_SYSTEM/ai_processing/aiprocessor.js`) which should be replaced with a production ML or external API integration for classification, prioritization, and summarization. - The database schema and sample data are in `BACKEND_SYSTEM/database/setup.sql`. Next steps - Wire persistent hosting for the backend and database - Integrate real AI model(s) and secure API access - Add multilingual resources and translations
