Five day AI curriculum for complete beginners, written for the BECOME SKILLED programme at JCI Nigeria, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. Free tier tools only, a shippable deliverable every day. # BECOME SKILLED: Basic AI Skills for Beginners The curriculum for the Basic AI Skills track of **BECOME SKILLED**, a training programme run by **JCI Nigeria, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka** (the collegiate chapter of Junior Chamber International) through its **Directorate of Skills and Development**. Delivered April 2026, nightly on Google Meet, under the theme *"Equip Yourself: Digital Skills, Social Tools and AI for Beginners."* I wrote this curriculum. I am a member of the directorate that ran the programme, and I built the registration system both of its tracks ran on. ## Why this repository exists BECOME SKILLED drew 123 registrations from more than eight faculties and left almost nothing behind. The curriculum lived in flyers, a Meet link and a WhatsApp group. This repository is where the teaching material goes so the next person running a programme like it does not start from an empty page. It is free to reuse and adapt with attribution. ## Who it was built for Registration data, in aggregate: - **123 registrations** across **8 or more faculties**, the largest groups being Management Sciences (27.6%), Engineering (21.1%), Law (17.1%) and Social Sciences (17.1%), with Agriculture, Arts, Environmental Sciences and Basic Medical Sciences also represented - **86.2% were not members** of the organisation running it - **30.9%** chose this AI track over the Digital and Social Skills track So: mostly beginners, mostly from non-technical faculties, mostly strangers to the chapter. These come from the registration form I built for the programme. Aggregate figures only, no individual responses. **86.2% of registrants had no prior connection to the organisation running it.** **More than eight faculties, and Management Sciences outnumbered Engineering.** This is the finding the curriculum was written around. **Roughly a third chose the AI track over the digital and social skills track.** **62.6% found the programme through social media, yet almos …
