It provides an interactive map that displays all Nigerian wards, complete with their GPS coordinates, enabling users to visualize and explore administrative boundaries at the most granular level. While data is often available at the State or Local Government Area (LGA) level, ward-level mapping—which is essential for planning, monitoring, and community-level interventions—has largely been inaccessible or unavailable in a public-friendly format. This project aims to change that by converting raw, tabular GPS data into a usable, interactive map powered by Google Maps. ## Problem Despite Nigeria having over 8,000 wards spread across 774 LGAs, there is no publicly accessible digital platform that visualizes these wards geographically. This presents significant challenges for **NGOs and development organizations**, who need accurate location data for targeting interventions. **Researchers and data analysts**, who often struggle to geocode ward-level data for spatial analysis. **Businesses and planners**, who need fine-grained data for expansion, logistics, or field operations. Most existing data sources only map down to the LGA level, which limits decision-making accuracy and efficiency. The absence of ward-level visualization also increases the risk of duplicate coverage, inefficient resource allocation, and poor tracking of on-the-ground activities. ## The Solution The Nigeria Ward Mapping Tool provides a solution by using Google Maps to visualize all wards as clickable points on an interactive map.
