# Amharic Letters — Animation Test Project
This is a **trimmed test build** of a children's Amharic alphabet (fidel) tracing game,
prepared as a paid screening task. It contains **only the first 5 letters of Family 1**
(ሀ, ሰ, ሸ, በ, ቨ) so you can focus entirely on the animation task below.
---
## The task
When a child finishes tracing one letter, the next letter appears. Right now the letters
just **slide in/out** with no relationship shown. We want a **smooth transition animation
between each letter that visually teaches how the new letter relates to the previous one.**
The Amharic script is systematic — most letters are a base shape plus a small modification.
A good transition makes that visible, for example:
- one letter **rotating** to become the next,
- a **new stroke animating into place** to turn one letter into another,
- a simple, gentle **fade** where there is no clear relationship.
Keep it **kid-friendly** (ages ~7–11): calm, clear, not flashy.
**We are open to your approach** — sprite/transform animation, frame-based, skeletal,
shader, whatever you think gives the cleanest result. Show us how *you* would do it.
For this test, implement the transitions between these 5 letters (the 4 hand-offs as they
appear one after another). Quality on a few matters more than quantity.

## How to run
1. Open the project in **Unity 2022.3.62f2** (same minor version recommended).
2. Open the scene `Assets/_GameSource/_Scenes/Main.unity`.
3. Press **Play** — it boots **straight into the 5-letter tracing**, no menus.
Trace each letter; when one is complete the next appears (this is where the transition
should play). After the 5th, a button replays the set so you can watch your transitions
on a loop.
> To use the normal menu flow instead, select the **UIManager** object in the scene and
> uncheck **"Boot To Letter Test"**.
