Project Overview This project is a multi-page interactive Power BI dashboard analysing maternal and child health outcomes across Kenya's 47 counties. It was built as a portfolio project to demonstrate applied data analytics skills in a development sector context — specifically the kind of data work done by MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning) officers and health data analysts in NGOs and public health institutions. The dashboard integrates 11 publicly available datasets covering vaccination coverage, antenatal care, skilled birth attendance, child mortality, stunting rates, and health facility performance. It tells a story of significant county-level disparity beneath Kenya's strong national averages — and asks who is being left behind, and why. --- ## 2. Problem Statement Kenya's national health statistics often mask deep inequalities at the county level. With a national Skilled Birth Attendance rate of 97.07% and over 15,000 health facilities, Kenya appears well-positioned on headline indicators. Yet the country's Maternal Mortality Ratio stood at 375 per 100,000 live births in 2021 — more than five times the SDG 3 target of 70 by 2030.
