# Quantitative Analysis of Poverty and Inequality in Zimbabwe
## Description
This repository contains the Python-based computational models and data analysis scripts supplementing the manuscript "Bridging Operations Research and Social Justice: A Rigorous Analysis of Poverty and Inequality in Zimbabwe," submitted to the Journal of Academics Stand Against Poverty (Journal of ASAP).
The models include Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression for structural determinants of inequality, Monte Carlo simulations for stochastic forecasting of macroeconomic shocks, and Linear Programming (LP) for optimizing social protection resource allocation.
## Dependencies
To run these scripts, you will need Python installed along with the following libraries:
`pip install pandas numpy statsmodels pulp`
## Usage
You can execute each model independently from the command line:
* **Regression Analysis:** `python regression_analysis.py`
* **Stochastic Forecasting:** `python monte_carlo_poverty.py`
* **Linear Programming Optimization:** `python resource_optimization.py`
