This is a website that generates day of the week that a person was born and gives them an Akan name according to Ghana naming system. # Akan Names This Repository contains code for my akan name aplication. ##### By Margaret Ng'ethe ## Description This is a web application that fetches the date, month,and year when you were born and tries to find the day of the week when you were born and gives you an Akan name (Akan names are derived from Ghanian culture, hwre children are given their first name according to the day of the week they were born.) ## Setup Instructions * git clone github.com on your terminal. * Navigate to the akan names folder through cd Documents/Desktop/moringa-akan-names-project. * Open the folder in your favourite editor,for vscode,is code . and for atom, atom . * Open the index.html in your browser ## Technologies Used * HTML * CSS * javascript #BDD - You have to enter your birth details in the calendar format (mm/dd/yy). You will input your details by typing or by clicking on the provided calender. - Secondly ,you need to choose your gender either Male or Female field provided since your akan name will be outputed only when you have provided the gender and your valid dates so you need to understand that the gender section is important. -The submit button is the part where your input or your details have been feed to the application and then it display or output your Akan name and the day your were born in case you forget to choose the gender or the correct date aprompt message will appear to inform you to input the correct details. ## Contribution Incase of any issues with the site,please drop them at mag49.github.io ## License Licensed under MIT license.
