AI-powered guidance platform helping African students find scholarships, training, internships and jobs
# EduNavigator AI
An AI-powered guidance platform helping African students discover and apply to scholarships, training programs, internships, and jobs worldwide.
## Problem
Thousands of students across Africa — starting with Benin — miss out on real opportunities simply because reliable, centralized information doesn't exist. Opportunities are scattered, hard to verify, and rarely matched to an individual's actual profile.
## What it does
- **Conversational AI assistant** (in French) that understands a student's academic profile — field of study, level, country — and recommends relevant opportunities with a calculated match percentage
- **Smart search** across a catalog of 500+ verified scholarships, training programs, internships, and jobs, filterable by country, level, field, and funding type
- **CV and cover letter generation** tailored to each specific opportunity
- **Application tracking** — a clear view of every application sent and its status
- **Personalized alerts** when a new opportunity strongly matches a student's profile
## Architecture & security
- **Frontend**: single-page HTML/CSS/JS application
- **Backend**: Supabase for authentication and data storage, with Row-Level Security — each user can only access their own profile, favorites, and applications
- **AI assistant**: calls a server-side endpoint (`/api/ai-assistant`) rather than the AI provider directly from the browser, so the API key is never exposed client-side
- **Privacy**: only the data strictly necessary for academic guidance is collected (name, email, country, level, field of study)
## Status
Working beta, first launched for students in Benin, with a panafrican expansion in mind.
