Agbabiaka --- ## Overview This study investigates whether regular gym participation is associated with lower resting intraocular pressure (IOP) — the single most important modifiable risk factor for glaucoma, a leading cause of irreversible blindness in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa. A comparative cross-sectional design was used, recruiting 120 adults in Ilorin metropolis (60 regular gym-goers, 60 non-gym-goers) via multistage sampling. Resting IOP was measured with a calibrated tonometer, and data were analyzed in SPSS v26.0 using descriptive statistics, an independent-samples t-test, effect size estimation, and bivariate correlation. ## Key Finding Gym-goers had a **significantly lower mean resting IOP (14.82 ± 2.30 mmHg)** than non-gym-goers **(16.73 ± 3.22 mmHg)**: - t(106.885) = −3.741, **p **Note on privacy:** The dataset uses participant ID codes only — no names or other direct identifiers were collected.
