A Lexical Transducer for the Morphological Segmentation of Swahili Verbs # SwaRegex: A Lexical Transducer for the Morphological Segmentation of Swahili Verbs ## Table of Contents - Introduction - Licenses - Acknowledgments - Repository Link --- ## Introduction **SwaRegex** is a rule-based lexical transducer developed for the morphological segmentation of Swahili verbs. This project was carried out as part of my Master's thesis, where the goal was to develop a model that processes Swahili verb morphology using regular expressions. This repository contains the source code for the model, along with a framework for comparing its performance against **XFST**. Instructions for testing the model with XFST are included in the [`xfst_commands.txt`] file. The main components of this repository include: - A rule-based model for Swahili verb morphological segmentation. - The **XFST** tool for comparison, integrated into the repository. - **XFST** commands for building a lexical transducer in **XFST**. --- ## Licenses This repository is licensed under the **MIT License**. --- ## Acknowledgments - This project was developed as part of my Master's thesis. Special thanks to my thesis advisor and all those who contributed to the development and feedback of this project. - Thanks to the **XFST** team for providing such a powerful tool for linguistic analysis. - You can read more about this work in my published paper: SwaRegex: A Lexical Transducer for the Morphological Segmentation of Swahili Verbs. --- ### 🎓 **For more information or questions, feel free to reach out!** --- ## Repository Link You can find the repository at: github.com
