You have gone to the village for a family reunion, a wedding or in my case and a good number of us for the Christmass holiday as is tradition in most Kenyan households. Your relatives are gathered and making conversation in your mother tongue but you don't speak a word of the language. Enter Chewa a web based application that you can use to learn your local language and spare the blushes the next time you travel home. ## Specifications Has an administration dashboard that allows the admin to be able delete and update content for the users. The admin will also be able to manage the accounts that are subscribed to the application. ## Users are able to... * Sign in with the application to start using. - by providing a user name and password... Users can also be able to sign in via their google email accounts. * Set up a profile about them. - here users will be able to view their profile update them and also be able to see the points that they have accumulated from the lessons they have signed up for. * The application offers both audio and visual (in images) content that they can be able to relate to as well learn how to pronounce the different words. * Users will be able to learn as many languages as they want to for the beginners module. - Currently the application offers Kiswahili, Dholuo, Kikuyu and the Kenya Sign Language to reach out to the deaf community. * Translator Feature. - Users are able to use the translator on the navigation bar to be able to type up the English word that he/she needs translated and get the return results of all the translation equivalent of the four languages. - also users are able to filter the language that they need the translation and view that as well as get the audio. # …
