TakuraBid is a data-driven bidding and project management platform for SMEs in Africa. Built with React.js, Node.js, and PostgreSQL, it offers AI-powered bid evaluation, financial risk analytics, and dynamic dashboards. # TakuraBid — Digital Freight Marketplace --- **Live Application:** takura-bid-six.vercel.app --- ## Overview **TakuraBid** is a full-stack digital freight marketplace engineered to bridge the gap between cargo owners and professional truck drivers across Zimbabwe's logistics sector. The platform operationalises a transparent, competitive bidding model — clients post freight loads with detailed cargo specifications, and drivers submit itemised rate proposals in real time. Upon bid acceptance, the system automatically provisions a job contract, activates a bidirectional messaging channel between the two parties, and exposes real-time delivery progress tracking through a role-partitioned dashboard interface. Beyond the core bidding engine, TakuraBid incorporates an AI-driven smart matching module that surfaces optimal driver-load pairings based on cargo type, driver specialisation, historical ratings, current availability, and route expertise. A multi-stop route optimisation engine generates recommended delivery sequences with distance-per-leg breakdowns, estimated durations, and projected fuel savings percentages. A searchable driver marketplace enables clients to discover, evaluate, and directly engage verified transport operators without initiating a competitive bid process. The platform is purpose-built to address systemic inefficiencies in informal freight procurement: opaque pricing, unverified driver credentials, the absence of structured load lifecycle management, and a lack of analytics tooling for logistics expenditure optimisation. TakuraBid enforces verified driver profiles, structured bid auditing, role-specific analytics reporting, and a complete load lifecycle from posting through confirmed delivery. > Developed as part of the **HIT200 / HIT400 Software Engineering Project** — Harare Institute of Technology --- ## System Architecture TakuraBid is implemented as a **monolithic full-stack Next.js application** using the App Ro …
