Analysis for a Mobile WACh NEO manuscript aiming to identify correlates of neonatal mortality and hospitalization in Kenya # Mobile WACh NEO Secondary Analysis - Risk Factors for Neonatal Hospitalization and Mortality This repository contains code used in the manuscript "Risk factors for neonatal hospitalization and mortality in Kenya" by Schultes et al. (manuscript under review). The objective of the manuscript was to characterize risk factors for neonatal hospitalization and mortality among a cohort of mother-neonate dyads in Kenya. ## Parent study This analysis used data from the Mobile WACh NEO randomized control trial (Evaluation of a two-way SMS…) which enrolled pregnant women coming to receive antenatal care at 28-36 weeks gestation. Women were randomized (1:1) to the MWACh NEO intervention or standard of care. MWACh NEO delivered automated maternal and neonatal health text messages to participants up to 6 weeks postpartum and allowed free text communication with a nurse. The trial sought to determine if text communication decreased neonatal mortality (doi.org). ## Data availability Data for the Mobile WACh NEO study and this secondary analysis are available upon request to the corresponding author. This repository is intended solely for informational purposes.
