It was built as a capstone project for the Microsoft Elevate AI Developers Program (PL-300: Power BI Data Analyst track), delivered by Data Science Nigeria in partnership with Microsoft. ## Problem Statement INEC declared results across 36 states and the FCT. Behind those numbers is a story about geography, voter turnout, regional patterns, and margins of victory. Most people saw the headline result — very few have examined what the data actually shows beneath it. ## Tools Used - Microsoft Power BI Desktop - Power Query (data cleaning and transformation) - DAX (measures for vote share, turnout, margins) - Microsoft Excel ## Data Source Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) — 2023 Presidential Election Official Results ## Dashboard Pages 1. **National Election Overview** — Key KPIs including total registered voters (65M), accredited voters (17M), national turnout (26.74%), winning party (APC), winning margin (6M votes), and party vote share breakdown 2. **Party & Integrity Analysis** — Result sheet correction rates by state, winning party by state table with vote margins, and party votes comparison across all states 3. **Voter Participation Analysis** — Accredited vs registered voters comparison by state showing the participation gap across Nigeria 4. **Key Findings** — Written analysis of discoveries with visual justification for every chart choice ## Key Findings - The 2023 election recorded an overall voter turnout of **26.74%** — fewer than 1 in 3 registered voters actually voted - **Jigawa State** recorded the highest voter participation at **41.52%** - **APC** won the presidential election with **36.55%** of total votes, defeating PDP (28.08%), LP (29.09%), and NNPP (6.28%) - The winning margin was approximately **6 million votes** - Result sheet corrections were highest in **Kebbi (23%) …
