Context-first financial infrastructure layer for community savings groups and rural SACCOs in East Africa. Engineered for low bandwidth, volunteer treasurers, and full ledger audit compliance. Mapped to SDG 9.
# Shanzu Technologies: SACCO Digital Ledger Infrastructure
## Platform Overview
This repository contains the core financial infrastructure components for the **SACCO and Community Savings Group Platform**, engineered by **Shanzu Technologies** in Kampala, Uganda.
We do not build isolated apps or operate as a software agency. This platform is an interoperable, open-access ledger engine designed to replace vulnerable handwritten books with resilient, digital financial trails. It enables volunteer treasurers in rural or refugee settlements to securely track member contributions, automate loan interest calculations, generate arrears alerts, and pipe data into multi-branch reports.
### Key Architectural Constraints
* **Low-Bandwidth Optimization:** Data packets are highly compressed to ensure synchronization works over weak, intermittent mobile networks.
* **Mobile-First Client Layer:** Designed explicitly for entry-level Android smartphones used in the field.
* **Financial Rails Interoperability:** Includes modular adapter hooks for secure native integrations with regional telecom infrastructure, including MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money.

## Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Alignment
This platform functions as a **Digital Public Good (DPG)** targeting **SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure**. By transitioning informal, high-risk physical ledger entries into structured digital histories, it provides excluded community members with a verifiable financial footprint necessary to interact with formal credit systems.
