This project analyzes global TB statistics to visualize the countries bearing the heaviest burden of the crisis, intended to inform Global Health Policy Professionals and Government Health Organizations ## 📊 Data & Methodology **Source:** World Health Organization (WHO) Global Tuberculosis Database. **Scope:** Global data spanning 1990 to 2013. **Metrics Tracked:** TB incidence rates, TB mortality (HIV positive and negative), TB deaths (HIV positive and negative), and TB prevalence. **Tools Used:** Tableau for interactive data visualization and spatial mapping. ## 💡 Key Findings **The Geographic Burden:** Sub-Saharan African and South East Asian countries have the highest prevalence of TB, though overall prevalence has declined over the 23-year period. **Regional Outliers:** While most regions experienced steadily declining TB incidence, the Africa region worsened; incidence started at 11k per 100,000 people in 1990, peaked at 16k in 2002, and gradually lowered to 12.5k. **The Importance of Detection:** Early detection is the most efficient way to treat TB. There is a strong correlation showing that countries with higher case detection rates have fewer mortalities. Fortunately, detection rates are increasing globally. **Economic Impact (GDP):** GDP is a strong signifier for TB deaths; countries with higher GDP per capita (and thus better healthcare infrastructure) report lower TB incidents and deaths. **Comorbidities:** There is a weak correlation between estimat …
