VLCIS National Platform is an Artificial Intelligence-based climate information system designed to generate high-resolution localized climate intelligence across Rwanda using 2,815 virtual AI climate nodes distributed on a 3 km × 3 km national grid.
The platform automatically integrates multi-source open climate observations, air-quality information, satellite products, numerical weather prediction outputs, and national meteorological observations every ten minutes. Artificial Intelligence algorithms continuously validate, calibrate, and fuse these datasets to produce operational climate information for forecasting, climate services, disaster risk reduction, agriculture, aviation, and policy decision support.
