🩺 MediScan — upload a prescription or lab-report photo and get a plain-language explanation (EN/Yoruba), powered by local Gemma 4 vision. # 🩺 MediScan — understand your prescription, on your own device **Upload a photo of a prescription or lab report → get a calm, plain-language explanation you can read _or hear_, in English or Yorùbá.** MediScan runs **Gemma 4 locally** (Ollama or HuggingFace) — no cloud, no account, nothing leaves the machine. Built for the **Google Gemma 4 Hackathon**. > ⚠️ **MediScan helps you _understand_ a prescription or lab result. It is NOT a substitute > for a licensed doctor or pharmacist.** It never diagnoses, never prescribes, and never tells > you to start, stop, or change a dose. Always confirm with a qualified professional. **Not for > emergencies.** --- ## The problem, and why it matters Billions of people are handed a prescription or a lab printout they can't fully read: handwriting, abbreviations (`1 tab TID p.c.`), drug names, and lab values like `HbA1c 8.4% (ref 4–6)` that mean nothing without context.
