Purpose
Based on the Stimulus-Organism-Response framework, this study examines whether climate for green creativity mediates the relationship between green servant leadership and employees' green behaviors, namely, green knowledge sharing behavior, green voice behavior, and recycling behavior, in higher education institutions in Morocco.
Design/methodology/approach
This study draws on data collected from 346 employees of higher education institutions in Morocco. The data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling.
Findings
The results suggest that climate for green creativity mediates the relationship between green servant leadership and employees' green behaviors.
Practical implications
This study offers important insights for higher education administrators by highlighting the relevance of green servant leadership and climate for green creativity in encouraging employees' green behavioral outcomes.
Originality/value
This study contributes to the literature by examining the relationship between green servant leadership and employees' green behaviors through climate for green creativity in a higher education setting.
