Prolonged dry season in parts of Africa is characterized by feed shortages which impact negatively on livestock. This can be overcome by exploring conservation techniques for alternative feedstuffs that are locally available and are commonly regarded as waste. This study was conducted to assess the potential of cabbage leaves waste (CLW) ensiled with pineapple peels (PPL) as feed for WAD goats. The study concluded that nutritional value of the waste cabbage leaves ensiled with pineapple peels was sufficient as a supplement and satisfied the minimal nutrient needs for growing WAD goats. Over the duration of the investigation, some serum parameters were negatively affected; consequently, feeding of CL and PP silage over prolonged period might trigger some health implications.
