Dar es Salaam Urban Cohort Study (DUCS) demographic information was used to randomly sample 4000 women and men aged 40 years or older for an in-depth survey of social, economic, and health characteristics, including the prevalence of major chronic conditions, disability, and physical and cognitive function.
