This scoping review systematically maps all pharmacological inducers of fetal hemoglobin (HbF) studied from 1982 to 2026 in sickle cell disease and beta-thalassemia. It aims to classify compounds by molecular mechanism, categorize reasons for clinical failure using predefined criteria, identify untested mechanistic combinations, and prioritize combinations by translational viability for low-resource health systems (LMIC).
