The dataset pertains to a cross-sectional study that assessed the HIV clinical outcomes and nutritional status of incarcerated men and women living with HIV and co-infected with TB. The study was done at the Maseru Central Correctional Institution (MCCI) clinic, which is a correctional institutional centre located on Pope John Paul II Road in Maseru District. It serves as the main prison of Lesotho. The MCCI accommodates inmates who are serving long-term sentences, life imprisonment, or those who have been condemned and reminds them of difficult cases such as mutiny, armed robbery, murder, and rape. The study investigated 195 participants, males: n = 168 and females: n = 27, who were purposively selected based on their HIV status as indicated in their medical records.
