How COVID Drove the Evolution of Fact Checking

The files include the tweet ids of the tweets analyzed as part of this research. The demand file contains all the tweets containing fact-checking content whereas the file from fact-checkers includes tweets on fact-checking shared from the Twitter handles of the 15 organizations- Africa Check, AltNews, BOOM Live, Chequeado, Correctiv, Dogruluk Payi, EUvsDisinfo, Falsoo, Folha de S. Paulo: Agencia Lupa, Liputan6, Maldita, Pesa Check, Sebernarnya, Teyit and Turn Back Hoax. Thirteen of these are independent fact-checking organizations while two - Liputan 6 and Agencia Lupa - are fact-checking bodies within larger news networks. Although Liputan6 is a larger news program, we only study the twitter activity relevant to its fact-checking body by specifying the url to in the twitter API query parameter.
