The HyAfrica Final Project Report presents the results of a coordinated investigation into the occurrence, controls, and potential uses of natural hydrogen across four African regions: Morocco, Mozambique, South Africa, and Togo. Through integrated geological, geochemical, geophysical, regulatory, and socio-economic analyses, the project confirms significant natural hydrogen occurrences in South Africa, Mozambique, and Togo, while identifying deeper but less accessible potential in Morocco. HyAfrica delivers exploration workflows, conceptual models, policy roadmaps, and business use cases, providing a robust foundation for advancing natural hydrogen as a locally relevant, low-carbon energy resource in Africa.
