The aim of this scoping review is to identify evidence-based treatments/ interventions for adolescents diagnosed with posttraumatic stress disorder in sub-Saharan Africa, as well as to map the existing literature on the effectiveness of these treatments. This review will include studies conducted in sub-Saharan Africa that focus on interventions targeting adolescents aged 10-19 years, specifically those addressing PTSD symptoms or incorporating a PTSD-focused component. Only studies presenting primary data, including quantitative research (e.g., randomized control trials, quasi-experimental designs), mapping techniques, and qualitative studies, will be considered. This scoping review will follow the methodological framework proposed by Arksey and O’Malley, consisting of five stages.
