Implementation and Uptake of mHealth-Supported Remote Cardiac Rehabilitation: A Scoping Review Protocol of Global Evidence and Implications for Africa

Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) is a cornerstone of secondary prevention of cardiovascular events. Globally, mHealth interventions have emerged as promising solutions for delivering the CR programme remotely. Despite the proven usefulness of mHealth CR interventions globally, evidence on the availability and utilisation of such programmes in Africa remains limited. Moreover, global evidence on mHealth CR interventions has not been explicitly contextualised for adoption or adaptation to African health system realities, leaving a serious gap in realising such promising solutions.
