Nigeria is currently searching for national identity. This paper acknowledged the essence of Nigerian multilingual resources and explored its viability as a symbol of national identity. The paper in desk-review of documentaries and non-participant observation as sources of data collection textually established that Nigeria is grappling in identity crises occasioned with intractable deficits in use of indigenous languages. The findings from this study informed the need for a “pathway” facilitated through institutional task and advocacy and most importantly citizen indulgence in building a national identity through indigenous languages.
