This paper examines literature on how classroom environment and language based interactive learning strategies influence social emotional development among preschool children in Lagos State, Nigeria. Drawing on ecological, sociocultural, and social learning theories, the paper develops a conceptual framework linking physical, social, and instructional environment features with language-mediated interactional practices. Key constructs include classroom organization, teacher—child interaction quality, language scaffolding, dialogic reading, circle time, and peer-mediated strategies. Practical examples from Lagos preschools are used to illustrate applications. The paper concludes with recommendations for policy, teacher training, and an agenda for empirical research to test the model in Lagos State contexts.
