INNOECOFOOD Project Brochure

The INNOECOFOOD project (2024-2026), funded by the European Union, aims to establish ECOHUBS and living labs to transform sustainable aquaculture and agroecological food production in six African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Namibia, Ghana, Egypt). Integrating AI and IoT, it focuses on optimizing the climate-smart production and processing of fish (catfish, tilapia), spirulina, and insects (crickets, black soldier flies) using renewable energy and circular systems. Key activities include capacity building for local communities, developing innovative value-added food and feed products from by-products, and creating a digital marketplace. The project targets impacts in food security, environmental sustainability, and socio-economic empowerment.
