Educational project implementation within Nigeria continues to face significant governance and leadership challenges that undermine institutional effectiveness and educational development outcomes. Persistent concerns surrounding corruption, bureaucratic inefficiency, weak accountability systems, political interference, fragmented stakeholder coordination, and poor project monitoring have contributed to delays, abandoned projects, infrastructural decline, and ineffective resource allocation across the educational sector. Existing leadership structures within many public educational institutions often rely heavily on hierarchical administrative systems that struggle to sustain transparency, collaboration, and adaptive decision-making in increasingly complex governance environments. This conceptual paper examines the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into socialised project leadership as a framework for strengthening educational project governance in Nigeria. Drawing from transformational leadership, servant leadership, collaborative governance, and adaptive leadership perspectives, the paper conceptualises socialised project leadership as a collaborative, ethically grounded, and stakeholder-oriented governance approach capable of improving institutional accountability, participatory decision-making, and project implementation effectiveness. The paper further argues that AI-supported governance systems can complement this leadership framework through predictive analytics, automated monitoring, intelligent reporting systems, enhanced communication structures, and evidence-based decision support. The discussion focuses particularly on the governance environments associated with the Universal Basic Education Commission and the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, both of which play critical roles in educational project implementation within Nigeria. The paper contends that combining AI-enabled administrative systems with collaborative leadership structures may strengthen transparency, reduce operational inefficiencies, improve project oversight, and enhance institutional responsiveness across educational governance systems. The paper concludes that AI should not be viewed as a replacement for human leadership but rather as a complementary mechanism that supports ethical governance, collaborative engagement, and data-informed decision-making. Sustainable educational reform in Nigeria requires leadership systems capable of balancing technological innovation with human-centred governance principles, institutional integrity, and stakeholder accountability.
