This repository contains the interactive data visualizations and reproducible R code developed for the study: Temporal dynamics and functional time series forecasting of infant mortality in Africa. The materials are provided to complement this study and to facilitate reproducibility, transparency, and further exploration of the empirical results.  The interactive visualizations were developed using R, Plotly, and htmlwidgets. They enable readers to explore the functional principal component analysis (FPCA) results and compare observed and model-predicted infant mortality rates (IMR) across 54 African countries. Two separate datasets, Male Infant Mortality Rates and Female Infant Mortality Rates, were uploaded for the study. The data are publicly available on World Development Indicators (WDI).
