A survey and resource-oriented study examining the current state of Natural Language Processing (NLP) for Iraqi Arabic. The paper reviews existing Arabic NLP resources, dialectal datasets, pre-trained language models, and major NLP tasks, while identifying research gaps related to Iraqi Arabic. It introduces the Iraqi-Arabic-NLP-Toolkit (IANLP), a corpus and toolkit initiative designed to support future research on Iraqi civic discourse, dialect diversity, and computational linguistics applications for low-resource Arabic varieties.
