With funding from the JRS Biodiversity Foundation, the Freshwater Biodiversity Unit of the IUCN Global Species Programme implemented the project: "Biodiversity information for the Lake Malawi/Nyasa/Niassa Catchment Eastern Africa: Data for decision-makers". See
iucn.org for further details. Through this project, Red List assessments of the extinction risk of all freshwater crabs, fishes, molluscs and shrimps, and selected freshwater plants, native to the Lake Malawi/Nyasa/Niassa Catchment were published on The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (
iucnredlist.org). This resource represents the point occurrence data collated through this project and published as part of the species distribution maps.
