Record type:

After annotating Sheko_011, the researcher questioned the positive attitude of the speaker to the past situation with regard to ilnesses. Elias then wanted to record his explanation. He stresses that the past and the present both have strong and weak sides, but that the Sheko were stronger in the past, being used to the cold and knowing medicinal plants. However, trading was difficult for them. Nowadays, transport has improved, but to be healthy Shekos have become dependent on buying clothes and going to clinics. The knowledge of the medicinal plants is getting lost. Transcribed and translated into English and (partly) Amharic, with a few notes.
