The main purpose of this thesis is to study the impact of the volatility of interest rate on the banking interest margin. In particular, it is aims to show, the effect of interest rate on the term structure and, in addition, the impact of the term structure on the transformation of the term. Finally, it is an attempt, to highlight the strong sense of causality that exists between the risk of interest rate and the interest margin resulting from the transformation of the term. We try to detect the volatility of interest rate on the margin from a simple of 23 Tunisian banks during 2005-2014. We regress the banking margin on a vector of the variables representing the specific variables of the bank. At the level of the Tunisian banks, several variables contribute to the increase in the interest margin: the operating costs, the capital, deposits, the size and number of wickets. From the study of the impact of the macroeconomic variables on net interest margin, the results show a positive and significant impact of the volatility of interest rate on net interest margin. In Tunisia, the higher the risk of interest rate is, the higher the interest marg in. We conclude that the volatility of the interest rate is not the only factor explaining the margin. The GDP growth and inflation constitute are also determining factors of the interest margin. p. 209-241
