L'utilisation de la transcription phonétique en cours d'arabe de Damas

National audience As the usage of phonetic transcription is commonly acknowledged in col-loquial Arabic classes, we are comparing the pros and cons of such a ped-agogical choice with those of teaching and learning from the Arabic al-phabet. The latter raises the question of the choice of spelling, between a classically-focused spelling common to both classical and colloquial vari-eties but regardless to variations, and a colloquially-focused spelling dis-playing phonetic accuracy L’utilisation d’une transcription phonétique étant admise dans les cours de variétés arabes dialectales, nous comparons ici les avantages et incon-vénients de ce choix pédagogique avec ceux du choix de l’enseignement de et par l’alphabet arabe. Ce second choix pose la question de celui de l’orthographe, entre une orthographe classicisante commune aux deux va-riétés classique et dialectales mais qui n’intègre pas les variations, et une orthographe dialectalisante qui a l’avantage de l’exactitude phonétique.
