Bakare's Rogbodiyan is a cultural product that promotes the traditions and cultures of the Yoruba community in Nigeria. The title of the play, Rogbodiyan, carries a semantic import with a high cultural content. As such, the play cannot be appraised or examined without proper meaning sharing from the interconnected pattern of linguistic choice of language, codes and symbols. The process of examining the codes and symbols as well as their relation to each other probes into semiotics.
