Linguistic Self-Definition in Polish and Algerian Samples: A Twenty Statements Test Study with Implications for Intercultural Education

This repository contains the analysis code, derived analytical outputs, and reproducibility materials associated with the study “Linguistic Self-Definition in Polish and Algerian Samples: A Twenty Statements Test Study with Implications for Intercultural Education.” The study compares Twenty Statements Test (TST) responses from Polish and Algerian samples comprising 144 participants (72 per group) and 2,850 valid self-descriptive statements (1,424 Polish and 1,426 Algerian responses). The deposited materials include the final Python analysis script (analysis_TST.py), the analytical outputs generated by the script (TST_POLAND_ALGERIA_results), and a README file documenting the contents and analytical workflow. The outputs include materials underlying the statistical analyses, McPartland reference-frame distributions, response-position analyses, lexical analyses, tables, figures, and audit/reproducibility documentation reported or referenced in the associated article. The computational procedure was used for pre-classification and analytical support rather than as an autonomous coding system. All 2,850 valid TST responses were individually reviewed by the researcher against their original Polish- or French-language wording, and the final classifications represent researcher-verified coding supported by computational pre-classification. The original pseudonymised response data used as input for the analytical procedure are not included in the public repository. Because the dataset contains open-ended self-descriptions that may include potentially identifying or sensitive information, these source data are available from the authors upon reasonable and justified request. The repository is provided to support transparency, reproducibility, and verification of the analytical procedures and results reported in the associated publication.
