<b>BUILDING RESILIENT TEACHER EDUCATION SYSTEMS IN NORTH-EAST NIGERIA AMIDST ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE DISRUPTION AND SECURITY CHALLENGES</b>

Teacher education systems in North-East Nigeria are increasingly challenged by persistent insecurity and the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI). These dual disruptions threaten the continuity, accessibility and quality of teacher preparation programmes. This study examines strategies for building resilient teacher education systems by focusing on instructional delivery, professional development, digital access and AI integration. The study adopts a qualitative desk-based research design using systematic literature review and thematic analysis of peer-reviewed journals, policy documents and reports from international organizations. Findings indicate that insecurity disrupts teacher training, limits access to institutions and weakens professional development opportunities. However, AI-driven technologies provide opportunities for flexible learning, remote teacher training and personalized instruction. Despite these benefits, challenges such as poor infrastructure, digital illiteracy, and inequality in access persist hinder effective implementation. The study concludes that resilience in teacher education requires strategic investment in digital infrastructure, AI literacy and flexible learning systems. It recommends policy reforms, continuous professional development and inclusive technology integration to ensure sustainable teacher education.
