This study examined the Contribution of Youth in digital platforms towards community development projects in Tanzania using Singida municipal council as a case. Specifically, the study sought to identify the landscape of digital platforms among youth in Singida municipality, to analyze the challenges facing youth in using digital platforms in community development projects, to establish strategies to empower youth in the use of digital platforms for community development projects in Singida. This study used case study design with mixed research approaches, which combines both quantitative and qualitative approaches. A sample of 114 respondents was selected through purposive and simple random sampling techniques. Data were collected through structured questionnaire and Interview was employed as data collections methods. Qualitative data were analyzed by using thematic data analysis method while quantitative data were analyzed by descriptive statistics through SPSS. 100 were given questionnaires while 14 respondents were purposively selected for interviews. The findings revealed that digital platforms are widely recognized by youth as useful tools for youth engagement. Lack of digital skills, high cost of internet or data, poor network and connectivity, limited access to devices, lack of relevant content on community and greater institutional support from government and NGOs. The study indicated that developing digital training programs, increasing affordable internet access, and improving urban digital infrastructure are critical for increasing young people's participation in digital platforms and fostering long-term community development efforts. These projects align with the Diffusion of Innovation Theory and the Theory of Planned Behavior.
